When Jordan Alexander and her husband Steve recently visited Walt Disney World in Florida they had little idea that part of their vacation would end up going viral. It all started when Jordan, who hails from Syracuse, NY, found herself alone on Splash Mountain--her favorite ride at the park. Steve had promised that he would ride with her but after a long day of touring he backed out at the last minute.
Not at all happy with his decision, Jordan decided that she would share her displeasure with her husband by putting on a grumpy face during the largest plummet of the ride. Knowing that the camera would be there to document her ride, she took the time to practice her face and get it perfected just before the photo. What was documented was a hilarious picture of "Angry Splash Mountain Lady" at the Happiest Place on Earth.
The photo was published by Steve on Reddit and Imgur and immediately started getting hits. Within five days it had been viewed over two million times. Television magazine Inside Edition tracked down the "Angry Splash Mountain Lady" and shared the story. The happy couple (yes, Jordan has been documented having a happy face) admitted that life has sent them some huge curve balls but that “humor was one thing that kept us together through all of the hardships."
Even though the photo is hilarious in it's own right, several people took the time to share their creativity with the rest of the social media world by creating various meme's out of Jordan's picture. The results have ranged from Jordan plummeting down the chute with a creepy John Travolta, then a scruffy Keanu Reeves and even several presidential hopefuls. Jordan and Steve are riding their new found popularity to the hilt and Jordan has actually created a twitter account called @AngrySplashLady!
