In honor of Starkid releasing A Very Potter Senior year today I thought I’d take a brief moment to reflect on my love and appreciation for the series. I was reluctant at first, I mean who has 3 hours to sit and watch something on youtube? I had seen a clip of Granger Danger and it made me chuckle but I really just could not commit. I took the plunge during a snow storm and managed to watch both A Very Potter Musical and A Very Potter Sequel consecutively. That’s right, I didn’t leave my bed for about 6 hours. I laughed, I cried, and I questioned why I hadn’t come up with this idea. More importantly I wanted to know why I wasn’t friends with these kids. Over the years I have gone back and rewatched and tried to get everyone I knew on board. They still look at me like I have 10 heads if I mention pigfarts or say ‘that’s absurd’ in the Potion Master’s voice. The best thing about it all though is that through my appreciation for Starkid I have met some pretty awesome people. I think that is the biggest payoff of them all. I’m excited for AVPSY and to share it with all my fellow Starkid’s and can only imagine what a great sendoff it will be for the series!
