When you lose your phone, you can call it. When you lose your wallet, keys, or iPod, it is more difficult to track down just where they turned up after you misplaced them.
However, now, thanks to Tile, you can now track all your belongings.
Tile is an app that syncs itself with small white tags that you can attach to important belongings, reports LaughingSquid. Stick it in your purse, onto your laptop or iPod, even attach it to your keys, and you are good to go. The tags link with an app that will direct you to the item you are trying to find.
The app allows users to track if they are getting closer or further away from the item they are trying to find. You can even set the tag to ring so you can hear it from a distance. Kind of like calling your phone… except you are calling your wallet.
Tile allows users to track items that are within a 50-150 foot range. If you left your item at a friend’s house or at the mall, don’t fret. The app saves the latest GPS location of the Tile, so if you leave your keys in a friend’s car, you will know. That sure saves you a few hours tearing your room apart.
Tiles are expected to ship in late 2013 and early 2014, and are currently available for pre-order. They can currently be shipped to Canada, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
