Rumor has it that Apple's next iPhone, which will be unveiled in March, will be significantly smaller than the iPhone 6 despite recent trends.
As iPhones are released throughout the coming years, we’ve all grown used to a certain pattern. With each iPhone comes a thinner device and a wider screen. As each one grows bigger, it becomes increasingly difficult to fit the phone in your pocket, or simply hold it without getting muscle cramps.
It’s actually quite ironic – when the mobile phone first came out, everyone loved the idea of it being a small object you could fit in your pocket. Now, it seems that each phone is getting bigger and we are reverting back to this:

Yes, it does seem crazy to think that the iPhone 6 plus is actually a huge device that can barely fit in people’s hands. Gone are the days when you could simply use your thumb to reach the wide ranges of the screen.
Many speculated that the next iPhone to be released, the 7, would be even bigger. It could reach iPad size, and everyone would have a giant tablet to their ears. However, rumor has it that this won’t be the case. This new iPhone, which is slated to come out next year, is rumored to be even smaller.
That’s right. Apple will supposedly release a new iPhone that will have a four inch display.
The rumors come from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who issued a research note obtained by macrumors.com confirming Apple’s plans to release a smaller iPhone with a four inch screen. Apple’s rumored new phone is said to resemble “an upgraded iPhone 5S” and will likely be called a “6c.” This device will be revealed in March during Apple’s presentation.
This is not a surprise to some, but others would be pleased if Apple kept a larger display and instead focused on reducing the size of other parts of the phone so that users could work the device with one hand.
Along with the iPhone, a new watch is said to be rumored as well, which would possibly feature a camera. We will know more in March.
