Alex James, bassist for Blur, has claimed that Noel Gallagher and Damon Albarn have been working together.
For those of you who don’t know, or don’t remember because it was before your time, Damon Albarn is the lead singer for the band Blur, whose track “Song 2” was a huge hit back in the 90’s.
Damon Albarn and Noel Gallagher used to have a long standing feud that came to an end in 2011 when the pair went out for a drink together.
Gallagher and Albarn performed together for the very first time at the Teen Cancer Trust Show that took place earlier this year, and they took the time to perform Blur’s hit song from way back in 1999 – “Tender.”
When bassist James was asked by Sziget about the rivalry from the 90’s, he said: “[Albarn] and Gallagher are working on a lot of stuff, so whatever was back then is not relevant anymore. But we have to add that young bands today are all very nice. We are totally intolerable.”
Before this little get together between to the two British singers, Albarn said he would have been happy to work with Gallagher, and Gallagher has said that he would like to record an album with Albarn as well.
James has also said the guys “are like best mates now,” after, “realizing that we were all on the same side eventually.”
