Arnold Schwarzenegger has confirmed that he will be making his return to the big screen as the futuristic cyborg, The Terminator, when Terminator 5 goes into production in January 2014.

Schwarzenegger made the statement during a speech in Sydney, Australia where he is currently taking part in the 21st Century Financial Education Summit. In fact, I’m very happy that the studios want me to be in Terminator 5 and to star AS the Terminator, which we start shooting in January…”

The last time fans saw Arnold portray the T-800 robot assassin, was in 2003’s Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines. A computer generated version of him was used in the 2009 prequel Terminator Salvation, due to his obligations as the governor of California.

James Cameron, the man behind the first two films, The Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgement Day, has also reportedly signed on for the franchise’s fifth installment.

In related news, during his speech in Sydney Schwarzenegger also confirmed that he will be reprising not just another one, but another two of his iconic film roles.

He announced that he will once again play Conan the Barbarian in the sequel to the 1982 film of the same name. He will also be reviving Julius Benedict in Triplets, the forthcoming sequel to his 1988 film Twins, which also starred Danny DeVito.

“I’m also going to do King Conan – to play that role and also to do another Twins movie,” was his actual confirming quote.
