Prepare to do your chicken dances, fans of Arrested Development
! A soundtrack for the hit series is going to be released next month
The soundtrack, which will be released by Varese Sarabande Records and is titled At Long Last...Music and Songs from Arrested Development
, is going to hit shelves on November 19. The press release on the record label’s website read: "Arrested Development
's composer David Schwartz selected his songs and score from all four seasons of the show, with a heavy dose of the original madcap songs and its signature ukulele tunes.”
musical director, David Schwartz, said, "The playlist is based on all of the requests from we received during the AMA on reddit.com. Greatest fans ever!"
He also noted that the soundtrack came to fruition after a high “fan demand”. He noted, "A majority of the album is weighted toward the songs. Most of the songs composed for the show came together organically, but quite often [creator Mitchell Hurwitz] would call me up requesting one and float some lyrics by me while he was driving. When it comes to the humor and parody of the songs, Mitch has a great deal of trust in the show's super-smart fans. He never wants any musical reference to be too obvious."
The upcoming record will include 42 tracks, including Gob’s “It Ain’t Easy Being White”. That’s a lot of music! I’m sure none of the fans are complaining, and are eagerly waiting to hear the songs that have been heard in the show’s background, as well as the original pieces that were performed.
