Television series Arrow made an exciting announcement regarding the upcoming fourth season. Apparently, Neal McDonough has been cast as mysterious super villain Damien Darhk. The series has already introduced Darhk's character as a rival to Ra's al Ghul and one of the few men as intelligent, or as evil, as Ra's. This is quite a departure from his comic book namesake, who relied more on technology than ancient weaponry. Arrow writers are known for putting their own spin on established characters, so it will be interesting to see how much, or how little, they pull from the comics.
McDonough is no stranger to the superhero genre. He played Howling Commando Dum Dum Dugan in a number of Marvel titles, including the Captain America films, and Agent Carter. This isn't his first experience with the DC universe either, having voiced characters like the Flash, Deadshot, and even Green Arrow in several video games and animated works.
Arrow is scheduled to return to the CW on Wednesday, October 7 at 8:00 p.m. ET. While McDonough has been cast as a series regular, there is no word yet on when he'll make his debut.
