Looks like "Nashville" may be steering away from the political drama on the show. Star Eric Close, who was arrested at the end of season 3, will not be a full time character on the show anymore.
I imagine a lot of fans will be relieved not to see him as often since his character is a bit of a slime ball. Close plays Teddy Conrad, Rayna's ex husband, who has a bit too much fun with the ladies and gets in trouble for it. ABC has not returned any requests for comment.
There's still a place for him in the show but ABC is making a smart move to lessen the amount of screen time the politician gets. This show is about country music, not Nashville politics. Don't fret if you enjoy Close though, as he will be back as Travis Tanner in Suits this summer.
