As most of you know, Walt Disney World revealed in 2011 that they would be working on Avatar Land. With recent concept art releases as well as producer comments, we are getting really excited about the reveal! Although specific details on the park are extremely hush hush, Disney released some concept art late last year regarding the park. The art shows beautiful dark colors in the deep forests of Pandora, almost immediately reminiscent of the movie graphics.

In regards to rides and amusements inside Avatar World the only information we could conjure up was that it's going to be big. Really big. But recently, Jon Landau and Joe Rohde who are Disney imagineers, gave some insight on the topic. Landau commented that the bioluminescence, light given off naturally by a living organism, so prevalent in the movie will also play a huge role in Avatar Land. Landaue also hinted on a "flying ride" which he stated is "a spectacular proposition". When asked about the overall concept, Landau said, "(the) land itself is truly the attraction...To me, Avatar's not coming here. Pandora is coming here." But it isn't just Disney's Avatar Land that has Avatar fans waiting; it is the three new movies being released around the same time as the park opening in 2017. Last October, Disney released a video that provides the most up to date information on the upcoming movies as well as the park. In the video, Jim Cameron gives some backstage looks at the new movies and Disney imagineer Joe Rohde reveals that the landscape will be interactive, just like the movie. Check it out below and I must say, it has me very excited!
