Though the observed filming for The Avergers 2 is still roughly 7 months away, there is still plenty of excitement surrounding the film, especially in terms of casting. It’s been said that Avengers director Joss Whedon has his eye on the Kick-Ass star Aaron Taylor-Johnson for the role of the superhuman speed wielding Quicksilver.
Some of you may be thinking, “Wait, what!? I thought he was a mutant and part of the X-men!!??” And you’re right! Before he was recruited to be a part of the Avengers, he and his twin sister, Scarlet Witch, who is also said to be cast in the Whedon film, were a part of Magneto’s, who is also their father, group called the Brotherhood of Mutants.
To spice things up a bit more, Quicksilver will also be in the newest X-men film, X-Men: Days of Future Past, directed by Bryan Singer but will be played by Evan Peters. The reason that this can happen is because Fox and Marvel both share the rights to the characters Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch.
Though not all characters for the new movie, that is set to release in 2015, have been determined or cast, Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch will be joined by some other new faces, including The Falcon who will be portrayed by Anthony Mackie. While Marvel is still negotiating with Robert Downey Jr. to return as Iron Man, other members such as Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Captain America (Chris Evans), the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) and Black Widow (Scarlett Johannssen) are all expected to return.
