Avicii Releases

The last songs you probably heard from Avicii were his songs, “Wake Me Up!” Feat. Aloe Blacc and “You Make Me” feat. Salem Al Fakir, that are set to be singles coming off of his new album True. With two songs out already, Avicii released a third song this week that features Adam Lambert and Nile Rodgers that’s called “Lay Me Down.”

Back in July, Avicii spoke about the song, “Lay Me Down”, to Digital Spy and described the song as “kind of very disco”. He also spoke to them about another song that he did with Imagine Dragons, and about what else to expect from the songs on his upcoming debut album.

"I did another with Imagine Dragons that’s almost orchestral and classical. I then have one that’s funky, one that’s jazzy, one that’s rocky and another that’s blues orientated. It’s kind of all over the place. It’s a fusion, but when you listen to the whole album it makes sense. It sounds like it’s going to be weird, but the final product is what I got so excited about. Once I started making these tracks I realized that it works. It doesn’t sound forced or that I’m trying to be pretentious - it just made total sense.”

I’m sure he’s nervous about how people will receive the album but no matter how well the album does, he’s said that he’s grateful for the success of his biggest hit so far, “Wake Me Up.”

"I was massively worried, but thankful that everything that has happened this summer with the song has been amazing," he told The Daily Mirror.

His music is clearly catching on though as he’s known well enough to have performed in this year’s 2013 iTunes Music Festival in London. He’s joining the likes of Justin Timberlake, Lady Gaga, and Katy Perry. You can check out the new Avicci song “Lay Me Down” now.

Hopefully that will tide you over until his debut album drops in just a couple days on September 17, 2013!
