Move over, Mariah. The Backstreet Boys are settling in to their new Las Vegas residency — and adding 15 new show dates. BSB has announced that their Larger Than Life show at The AXIS at Planet Hollywood will be extending into 2018.
The ’90s boy band phenoms launched their Vegas show in March, and, thanks to its success, new dates in November of this year and January and February of 2018 have just been added. In a video posted to the group’s Twitter page, bandmates Kevin Richardson, Nick Carter, A. J. McLean, Howie Dorough, and Brian Littrell put together fun surprise packages sent to fifteen special BSB fans, inviting them to the new shows and the backstage VIP meet and greet.
Richardson told Billboard that he and his bandmates are relishing staying in one place with the residency and are working on new music. They’re also feeling the love from fans and savoring the opportunity to be back on stage. “There’s a lot of love and positive energy coming our way right now,” Richardson said. “If you’re in this business long enough, you get to experience these different waves of energy and the highs and the lows and everything. You get to experience it over and over again. So we’re cherishing every moment.”
Not surprisingly, the Backstreet Boys aren’t the only ’90s group on tour at the moment. The Total Package Tour, featuring Boyz II Men, Paula Abdul, and headliners New Kids on the Block, is currently crisscrossing around the country. And, back in Vegas, BSB is sharing their digs at The AXIS with another formidable talent from the era: Britney Spears, whose four-year Piece of Me show will be wrapping up at the end of the year.
Tickets for the new Larger Than Life dates are available now. Backstreet's back, all right!
