Last week, it was announced that an all-star group formed of artists and called Band Aid 30 was to release a rendition of "Do They Know It's Christmas" for charity. During the latest episode of The X Factor UK, the song premiered in its entirety along with its accompanying music video.
The special television event was called The X AID 30 Factor, bringing the charity single out to the world. The final list of singers involved in the project consists of U2's Bono, Coldplay's Chris Martin, One Direction, Ed Sheeran, Ellie Goulding, Paloma Faith, Rita Ora, Sam Smith, Emeli Sande, Elbow, Seal, Jessie Ware, Fuse ODG, Sinead O'Connor, Angelique Kidjo, Olly Murs, Queen's Roger Taylor, Clean Bandit and Foals. The Bob Geldof-helmed reworked version of "Do They Know It's Christmas" takes much from the original and keeps it real, by simply adding new voices to the game.
The new cover of the track comes as a fund and awareness raiser for the treatment of Ebola. There is no denying that the names taking part in the rendition are major, but the most expected one did not end up providing vocals. Despite early speculation, Band Aid 30 failed to satisfy Adele's fans, as she is not included in the final thing - something they were looking forward to.
