Barack Obama Makes Historic Visit To Alaska To Talk About Climate Change

On a three day visit, President Barack Obama has set out his plans to help reduce the impact of climate change not just on Alaska but the world

US president Barack Obama is currently on a three day visit to Alaska where yesterday, he delivered an empowering speech about the dramatic effects climate change is having not only on Alaska and the ice caps, but around the world.

Prior to his visit, Obama had said he was:

“…looking forward to talking with Alaskans about how we can work together to make America the leader on climate change around the globe.”

While in the state, Obama is to also take a hike with intrepid explorer Bear Grylls and tour various communities, as a result becoming the first residing president to do so. He will also officially change the name of the country’s tallest mountain from Mount McKinley back to its Native name “Denali” despite some people opposing the idea.

Climate change has drastically changed the landscape of Alaska over the years and Obama’s visit and speech as to what we all as a population can do to help protect the planet for future generations will hopefully inspire more individuals to do all they can to help reduce the increasingly devastating impact climate change is having on the world.
