Ice cream? Did somebody say ice cream? Ben and Jerry's are hitting dessert lovers right in the stomach with the announcement of three new flavors of ice cream for their Core line of frozen treats.
What is a Core, you may ask? It's basically a solid form of a flavor (i.e. peanut butter, caramel, cheesecake) that is at the center of certain Ben and Jerry's ice cream pints. The idea is that a person can decide just how much of a certain flavor they would like in every bite of their ice cream--the consumer is responsible for creating their own ice cream eating experience. It's a simple but novel idea that seems to be pretty popular since the Ben & Jerry's company have announced three new core flavors sure to tickle someone's fancy. Want to learn more? Check out this interview with Eric Fredette, one of the chefs responsible for creating new flavors for us ice cream lovers to salivate over.
Ben & Jerry's twitter page made the announcement March 9, and introduced us all to Brownie Batter Core, Cookies & Cream Cheesecake Core, and Coconuts for Caramel Core.

Every thing looks and sounds so good. Brownie Batter as described by the Ben and Jerry's website:
"Smack dab in the middle of this brownie-chunk-filled ice cream there's a core of unbaked brownie batter calling your name. No, really. We heard it."
In an effort to release a concoction using every flavor but the kitchen sink they describe Cookies & Cream Cheesecake as:
"a rich center of cheesecake in the middle of a cool ice cream universe of chocolate, cheesecake & cookies"
The last flavor of the new releases is Coconuts for Caramel and is introduced on the Ben and Jerry's website thus:
How do you spoon your way to euphoria? Do you start with a cool cruise through fudge-kissed coconutty ocean, a quick dip in the caramel sea, or a thrill-dive deep in the well of thick, gooey caramel? Well?
As a big ice cream eater that thinks that the more stuff a person can throw into frozen creamy goodness the better, I think I'm going to have fun with these flavors. Anything sound good to you? Any that you will make your life's mission to avoid at all costs? Let me know down below.
