What do you get when you combine Benedict Cumberbatch, water and a beloved Jane Austen character? A glorious half-naked, soaking wet Mr. Darcy.
That’s right, the Sherlock star recently channeled his inner Mr. Darcy — and all for charity. As part of the “Give Up Clothes for Good” campaign benefiting cancer research, Cumberbatch jumped in a lake, unbuttoned his shirt and gave a smoldering stare. Let’s all take a moment to bask in this wonderful image.

Moving on.
For those unaware, this photo is a “replica” of the very famous lake scene in the 1995 TV miniseries Pride and Prejudice starring Oscar winner Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy. Thanks to Cumberbatch, now there’s some competition over who makes the character hotter. With that said, who do you think is a steamier Mr. Darcy?
As much as we could all oogle and argue over these actors’ beauty, it’s also important to note that this is all for a good cause.
Per Metro UK, TK Maxx and Cancer Research UK are hosting an exhibit featuring Cumberbatch’s photo, captured by Jason Bell. Other images include Liam Neeson, Kate Winslet and Elijah Wood.
Getting wet, recreating a famous scene and raising awareness never looked so good.
