Hobbit fans brace yourself, as director Peter Jackson just released another picture from the set of the hit film franchise. The New Zealand director posted the picture on his Facebook page of Benedict Cumberbatch stroking Martin Freeman’s hobbit feet!!!
Freeman plays Bilbo Baggins in Jackson’s second Middle-earth trilogy, whilst Cumberbatch brings Smaug the dragon to life. Benedict also voices The Necromancer who becomes someone VERY important to the future of Middle Earth. The two stars who are currently filming the third season of Sherlock did not share any scenes in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey with Cumberbatch being heard on screen for the first time in the upcoming sequel The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.
Production on the trilogy is now starting to wind down in New Zealand, with Sir Ian McKellen and Orlando Bloom having filmed their last scenes a couple of weeks ago.
The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug will be released worldwide on December 13.
