It looks like Benedict Cumberbatch really has made it to Hollywood.

It was announced on Thursday that Cumberbatch will be awarded the “British Artist of the Year” at the 2013 BAFTA Los Angeles Britannia Awards.

The award – which has previously been awarded to the likes of Daniel Craig, Kate Winslet, Helena Bonhem Carter, and Tilda Swinton – will be presented to Cumberbatch in LA on November 9.

According to the BAFTA LA website, the award is, “a celebration of achievements honoring individuals and companies that have dedicated their careers to advancing the entertainment arts.”

There is no surprise that an award that celebrates a British artists outstanding performances over the year would be given to Cumberbatch, considering the success he has had of late.

In a statement from the chairman of BAFTA LA, Gary Dartnall, he backs up the selection of Cumberbatch by saying:

“Benedict Cumberbatch has had a remarkable year, and as one of the UK’s leading talents he truly exemplifies the continued respect that British talents have garnered around the globe. Masterfully performing in TV, Film and Theatre and never failing to astound us with his talent and versatility, BAFTA Los Angeles is proud to honor Benedict as our British Artist of the Year.”

According to Digital Spy, both War Horse and Star Trek: Into Darkness, amongst others, were included in the allotted time frame.

Over the rest of 2013, Cumberbatch has four movies that will be released (The Fifth Estate, Twelve Years a Slave, August: Osage County, and The Hobbit: the Desolation of Smaug), Sherlock season three (hopefully), and a short film titled Little Favour.
