Justin Bieber To Close Out 2015 American Music Awards

Justin Bieber is on the promotional tour for his Purpose album, and the next stop will be during the American Music Awards! Details on his performance here!

Justin Bieber has one purpose this month, and it is promoting his recently released album Purpose (see what I did there?)!

Rumor has it that the album is set to debut atop the Billboard Hot100, beating out his main competition. One Direction’s Made In the A.M. However, Bieber is pulling out all the stops to ensure the top honors.

After a week of appearances with Ellen DeGeneres leading up to the Purpose release, Justin Bieber embarked on a tour of talk shows. Performances have taken place on the TODAY Show and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, but the Biebs has his heart set on a few more moments in the spotlight.

Most recently, it was revealed that the “What Do You Mean?” crooner would be nabbing headlines for closing out the American Music Awards this Sunday (Nov. 22).  In fact, the “Boyfriend” superstar has gone and earned himself the closing performance!

The American Music Awards announced Justin Bieber’s moment in the spotlight today (Nov. 19), and they revealed that his performance was sponsored by T-Mobile.  While on the stage, Biebs is scheduled to perform a medley of hits.  It’s unclear whether the set will span his career or will focus more closely on releases from Purpose but, either way, it is bound to be a fantastic performance.

Bieber may be taking the stage for more than just his performance during the awards show, as he, Skrillex, and Diplo have been nominated in the Collaborator of the Year category.  Justin Bieber and Jack U’s “Where Are U Now” burnt up the charts this summer, and now it may be earning the trio a trophy!

Fellow performers for the evening include a bevy of industry heavy hitters, Justin Bieber’s ex-lady love and Purpose muse Selena Gomez among them.  Future Now tour mates Demi Lovato and Nick Jonas are also set to perform, as well as 5 Seconds of Summer, Coldplay, Ariana Grande, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, One Direction, Gwen Stefani, The Weeknd, Carrie Underwood, Walk The Moon, Meghan Trainor, Charlie Puth, Luke Bryan, and Karen Fairchild.

Hostess with the mostest Jennifer Lopez is also set to shake her stuff during a much-hyped performance, and a cappella mavens Pentatonix are set to perform the iconic Star Wars score with the backing of a full symphony.
