Blake Lively fights to survive in the first trailer for her summer thriller The Shallows...
Summer time is the time to head to the beach, shoot fireworks, drink beer, and be with family, but it's also a time to watch shark movies. Luckily for us, The Shallows will hit theaters on June 24th, and its guaranteed to send chills down your spine.
In the film Blake Lively stars as a young girl who is attacked by a Great White Shark not too far from shore, but she's alone and trapped. How will she get back. The films tagline states, "What was once in the deep is now in the shallows." So far, the plot seems a little weak for an entire feature film but we are intrigued and positive that it will keep us out of the water.
Summer brings an onslaught of shark films thanks to SyFy's Sharknado week and the Discovery Channel's Shark Week! Shark movie lovers will also be treated to a summer blockbuster as well. The film claims to be "this generation's Jaws." It certainly is like the beginning of Jaws, if Chrissy hadn't died and instead had been stranded alone just close enough to think she could make it back to shore.
The trailer below is intense and the Great White terrorizing Lively is pretty darn big. Science would suggest that this breed of shark wouldn't stick around after the initial bite, but other sharks could come cruising. A Great White would be more likely to swim away but where's the fun in that? Watch below and tell us what you think. Is the trailer super scary on its own? What will Lively do for 90 to 120 minutes? Will a rescue party save her or will the shark win? Only time will tell or the official release in June so get ready shark movie aficionados because this is our summer! We are excited about this summer release!
