From North Carolina comes the hot new single, titled “Burned Alive” from the talented Tehon. Acting as Tehon’s introduction to the hip-hop industry, this well produced and inspired track will no doubt get many people talking about the great music to come.
Currently working on his debut album, “Burned Alive” is a great way to showcase Tehon’s laid back but also lethal style. The song itself is filled to the top with layers of synth sounds to accompany the raw and raspy voice of Tehon. It isn’t the speed of the track that hooks you, because for a single it is actually a bit slower in its pace than the usual choice for a single; but the strength lies in the emotion that is weaved into every corner of this dark track.
It is a major position of power in the hip-hop industry if one can tell your voice apart from the others easily, and Tehon definitely has an unmistakable voice. I personally would like to see what this artist can pull off with a faster beat that demands a more vicious and aggressive approach to the rapping.
“Burned Alive” is not a genre breaking track, but it does fit right in to what is currently hot in the industry. On one hand this is a club ready song, although the content may be a bit heavy to land that coveted position globally.
Best described as a cross between industrial and hip-hop, this is one single that is going to turn a few heads. If I could make any criticism here it would be that the song had all the potential to lift off the ground higher, but instead it chooses to stay in the mud. Composed in such a way that Tehon was given multiple moments to cut loose and show the depth of his lyrical prowess, unfortunately Tehon chooses to play it slow and safe. Of course this is only the lead single, and there is more than enough space on an EP to diversify the sound.
If you are a fan of hip-hop and solid lyrical skills, then don’t hesitate to give Tehon’s new single a spin.
