Cory Monteith’s spirit may have moved on to a better place, but his inspirational memory lives on…as does his music.
Just Jared reports his band Bonnie Dune, now a three-piece after his tragic passing, is planning to release brand new music this year.
The Los Angeles-based rock band consists of vocalists/guitarists Justin Wilczynski and Seth Roberts, and bass player Joshua Kerr.
It all started out as just a dream a few years ago for Wilczynski and his friend Jason Massey, now the band’s producer and co-writer. Bonnie Dune officially came together because of Monteith’s input.
“We had recorded the EP Miramar this last year working around Cory‘s hectic Glee schedule, tracking his drums and background vocals whenever he had free time. We were planning on touring the US and Canada summer 2014 promoting our new EP,” Wilczynski told Just Jared. “We never could have imagined something so tragic and devastating could happen to our bandmate, and more importantly, our close friend. Unsure of how to move on after losing Cory, we have taken our time to finish this album.”
Their newest single, entitled “Endless Summer”, is included as an instant download with the pre-order of Miramar.
“We know [Cory] is an irreplaceable part of Bonnie Dune, but we will continue to make music, something he loved to do and will start playing shows again in 2014, where we made some of our greatest memories together,” Wilczynski added.
Miramar is the second EP for Bonnie Dune, following 2012’s The Lost.
Miramar is available for pre-order on iTunes right now, with its official release set for February 4.
