Holy Cow! Bovine Births Ultra Rare Set Of Quadruplets

A bovine in Texas recently surprised her owners when she gave birth to a set of quadruplets, an extremely rare birthing event among cows.

It may be hard to believe, but it’s no bull.  Well, actually, it is bull.

Three bulls to be exact, and one heifer. A cow in Dekalb, Texas has made the news with the incredibly rare achievement of giving birth to live quadruplets.

On March 16, the arrival of circling buzzards overhead alerted owners Dora and Jimmy Rumsey-Barling that a birth might be taking place. They arrived to find three calves already born, and a fourth one who made its way into the world right before their eyes.

The likelihood of a quad bovine birth is 1 in 700,000, and the odds that all four calves are born alive is a staggering 1 in 11.2 million!

All four calves were born underweight, but their chances for survival are looking good. The tough little tykes are currently taking milk and appear to be fully developed.

The Barlings are looking after the calves, named Eeny, Meeny, Miny, and Moo, with the help of neighbors. The retired couple previously only owned 20 head of cattle as a “hobby.”

“We don’t have pet dogs like people love and really dote over,” Dora explained. “Instead, we’ve got the cows.”

Who knows? Maybe all that extra love and attention somehow played a magical role in the miracle birth!
