Hip hop artist Bow Wow took to Twitter on Sunday to announce that his upcoming album, NYLTH, will be his last, as he plans to retire from rap.

The Like Mike actor, who now goes by his real name Shad Moss, found fame at the age of 13 following the release of his first album Beware of Dog in 2000.

Rap mogul Snoop Dogg, who discovered the then 6-year-old artist at his Chronic tour in 1993, later gave him his well-known stage name Lil Bow Wow.

The 29-year-old father of one has now revealed that Snoop Dogg will executive produce his final album as he believes “since he brought me in the game, it’s only right I involve him and end it with him.”

The rapper continued: “I always said years ago I’d retire from music before 30. I just can’t see myself at 30 years old rapping.”

Bow Wow however reassured his over 3 million followers on twitter that this isn’t the last we’ll see of him, as he revealed his next career move.

He tweeted: “I’m focusing on acting and hosting. Also I’m producing two TV shows this year.”

After being grilled by fans, whom to say the least weren’t very supportive of his retirement, Bow Wow took to twitter to address his reasons for wanting leave the rap game.

He said: “Over 10 million sold, 6 arena tours, 10 top 10s, a few number 4 platinum albums, 2 gold albums. I’M DONE.”

“ ‘Retirement only means that it is time for a new adventure’ over 10 million sold. This is the last one. THANK YOU.” He continued.

He later tweeted: “Made over 20 million of rap. Why be greedy? I’m good with everything I accomplished. I made it to the White House.”

Bow Wow claims that he plans to celebrate his retirement properly by giving his fans one last show and teased that his final album is already underway.
