The Brit Award nominations were announced earlier this week, with Sam Smith and Ed Sheeran leading the pack with five and four nominations, respectively. No surprise there, since both men have been ruling the charts both on their home turf and overseas for the past couple of years.
Two of music’s leading ladies, Taylor Swift and Beyonce, are also on the list.
Newcomers 5 Seconds of Summer had a phenomenal 2014 with several award nominations across different countries. They’ve scored a Brit nomination for Best International Group.
Two categories are decided through fan voting: Best British Video and Best Breakthrough Act.
