@xxshaannonxx The Brit Awards blew up social media and set the record as the most tweeted about television show in the UK. The show notched up 4.17 million tweets, as the decision to allow fans to vote via Twitter for the first time proved a social media publicity masterstroke. The show was receiving 78,000 tweets every 60 seconds. Having some of the biggest names in music on stage helped break this record 100%. There was Pharrell, One Direction, Beyonce, Arctic Monkeys, and so many more. There were 2 million tweets were sent by fans from all over for the best British video, with One Direction’s Harry Styles who should be crowned the king of retweets receiving 155,000 RT’s on a post that said “Thank you to everyone who’s voting… We love you until it almost hurts in special places.” Not a surprise that One Direction took home the award for best British video, and the Global success award.

The show also set a new tweets-per-minute record for a UK TV showoff 78,000, with Beyonce, and Arctic Monkeys being the most talked about performers of the night. The show rounded up an average of 4.6 million viewers between 8pm and 10:15pm, and 18.4% share of all viewing in the time slot, this by far beats last year’s 6.5 million.
