Even though we haven’t heard of them for more than a year, Lawson decided to put an end to our misery and return to the scene. The British boyband has now made a comeback with a brand-new single, titled “Roads”, which now has a lyric video to go by.
Andy Brown and the rest of the gang brought their new era to life with a Google Hangout, making the announcement of a new single and teasing more tunes. Lawson then went on to premiere “Roads” a day later for the fans’ listening pleasure. Recorded at Nashville’s Blackbird Studios, the frontman stated that the track “explores addictions that people can go through”.The bandmates are once again working their magic on the guitar-pop tune, which manages to stay true to their catchy and anthemic sound, while also showing signs of growth. It really is a great listen.
“Roads” is scheduled to be released on May 10 and will serve as the lead single to be lifted from the band’s forthcoming, sophomore studio album. The as-yet-untitled project doesn’t have a release date set either, but Lawson intend to release it this coming summer. It will be a follow-up to their debut record, Chapman Square, which came out in two versions and included the hit single “Brokenhearted”.
