Britney Spears Planning An Extended Break After Britney Jean

There’s a lot to look forward to over the next few months if you’re a Britney Spears fan. First there’s the release of her latest studio album, Britney Jean. Then there’s her Las Vegas residency. However, it’s advised that you enjoy all the Britney goodies while you can, as eventually all good things must come to an end. While in the UK promoting her upcoming album, Britney revealed to the BBC Radio 1 Breakfast Show that she plans to take an extended break from music after Britney Jean. Britney did admit that she could see herself releasing anywhere up to 15 albums ultimately over her career, but never expected she would in reality be releasing an eighth studio record: “never in my wildest dreams [did I expect this]! I’ll take a break after this one for a while.” During the interview, Britney described what she goes through when producing an album, likening it to bringing new life into the world: “It’s really nerve-wrecking. You spend so much time working on this album and I’m really dedicated to it. It’s like my baby coming to life.” At the end of the year, Britney is to embark on a residency at the Planet Hollywood casino in Vegas. The musical spectacular is said to incorporate songs from her new album as well as her classic hits, something that she’s not overly keen on but realizes that that’s what the fans want to hear her sing. “I don’t like performing my old stuff. I like performing my new stuff. I do it for the fans because they like the old hits, but I prefer the new stuff.” Britney Jean is being released December 3, with her two-year Vegas stint beginning on December 27.
