Britney Spears celebrates the 100th edition of V Magazine with a sultry photoshoot and revealing interview. She confirms that B9 is well in the works and serves stylish looks in the process..
Pop icon Britney Spears is serving a decidedly high fashion dominatrix look on the cover and in the pages of V Magazine. The "Work Bitch" siren coyly smolders on the issue's three individual covers. Dressed in a very sheer black number with her hair in an artful bun, Britney appears at ease with her sensual seduction.
Within the pages of the magazine Spears continues to stun in studded heels and gloves, flaunting her hot body (which she's evidently been working on) in a handful of scintillating numbers.
The shoot was done by acclaimed photographer Mario Testino (who photographed Britney for V's 70th edition), and Britney expressed her respect for him in the accompanying interview. Describing the shoot as "simple and sexy" she assured readers that Testino was "one of the best in the world." She added that "He was great, very quick, and we just had fun all day."
Although V seems sure that Britney Spears's highly anticipated ninth studio album (under the working title of B9) is coming sometime this spring, Spears herself remained slightly more tight lipped on the affair. "I'm not really rushing anything. I would much rather have it be completely how I want it to be, whether that takes another year for me to do or two months." She added that it is all about the fans, and that she is being much more "hands-on" this time around.
Spears did refer to the project as "my baby" and described the project as "the best thing I've done in a long time" possibly alluding to a return to form after her less well received Britney Jean.
One thing that is clear is that new music will be added to the already remixed (and very much iconic) Las Vegas show Britney: Piece of Me. Spears gushed about the opportunity to work in Vegas (which is a short 40 minute plane ride from her Los Angeles home), and she explained that the changes to the show were to keep things fresh for her. With another 24 dates added in the coming months, it's safe to assume that things will continue evolving as we move closer to B9's elusive release date.
Also touching upon celebrity feuds, her iconic Instagram account, a new house, and her children, Britney's most memorable quotes revolve around her celebrity status. As one of the most beloved (and simultaneously hated) celebrities in recent memory, Spears is no stranger to the thrilling highs and chilling lows of fame. As such, she relates to today's youthful celebs like Justin Bieber and their struggles.
How does she deal with them? By rising above. "I have my relationship with God and myself, and that's what matters to me. I really don't care what most people think." The stance mirrors the advice that she would offer her 17 year old self if given the opportunity, the article's final question: "Just have an open mind, by true to yourself, and always follow your heart."
V's founder Stephen Gan explained why Britney Spears was the perfect choice for the issue's cover, explaining that the magazine launched a scant few months after the launch of Britney's career 17 years ago. "When looking for cover worthy subjects for our 100th issue, we had to ask ourselves, who do pop stars and musicians—who have become an integral part of what V represents—look up to and admire? There was only one answer: Britney! She has entered icon status, and who in our world did not grow up listening to her music?”
We could not agree more, and we could not be more in love with the feature!
