Last week Britney Spears teased fans by announcing she is currently in rehearsals for a “top secret” project.
She tweeted: “Taking a quick break to say hi to all my tweeps 🙂 Rehearsing for something top secret happening next week… #WERK”
The singer may be hinting that she may be filming a music video for her new single.
She replied to a fan who asked her “MUSIC VIDEO FOR FIRST SINGLE?” by simply tweeting “;)”
Could the big announcement be just that? In an interview with Digital Spy, Spears’ publicist said: “Britney has been using a vocal coach and going to regular sessions and has also been working hard with her choreographer in preparation for what’s coming up!”
The representative for Spears also said: “With album eight on its way and a rumoured Las Vegas residency in the pipeline, eagle-eyed fans have spotted that all of Britney’s social networks have adopted a blacked-out theme… the mystery continues!”
The blacked out theme is in reference to Britney’s personal website that has gone dark. The page only displayed the words: Britney Spears “ALL EYES ON ME.” It also had a countdown ticker which, as you can see from this screen cap, is currently at 15 days to go.
With a new album on its way, Charlie XCX, the force behind Icona Pop’s number one smash hit “I Love It”, has previously said she has written a song for Britney’s upcoming album.
“I’ve been doing some writing for the Britney record. I was freaking out. I didn’t even want to go to the session I was so excited. I was so worried I would fuck it up. I was doing some stuff for that yesterday actually. Who knows how it will go. We’ve written one song and it’s a great track and if she likes it then amazing. It was just an honour to be asked.”
So, what is Britney’s big announcement? What has she been needing a vocal coach and choreographer for?
I guess all will be revealed in 15 days…
