Twenty-four-year-old actress Britt Robertson is on the brink of worldwide fame, with lead roles in two giant movies this spring, Nicholas Sparks's The Longest Ride
and Disney’s Tomorrowland
, starring George Clooney.
Currently, she is wowing fans with her lead role in Allison Burnett’s dark indie film Ask Me Anything
. Her raw, gutsy performance even won her a Best Actress award at the Nashville Film Festival. But something strange happened last week when the movie premiered--Britt was nowhere to be seen!
Not an appearance or interview; she wasn't even at the L.A. screening and she has not tweeted about it. A scheduled press junket had to be canceled and her reps did not return calls or emails. How could she give the performance of a lifetime and not want to talk about it? There are so many rumors
about her shocking silence on the Internet and on social media. Some notable ones are that her boyfriend Dylan O’Brien, star of The Maze Runner
, doesn’t like watching Britt do love scenes. Another was that Nicholas Sparks didn’t like it.
And now a new rumor has surfaced, this time from a reliable source: that Disney has put a gag order on Britt. It seems they don’t want their teenage heroine promoting a film in which she takes drugs, drinks to excess, and takes off her clothes with three different men. The loser in all this? Britt herself, whose finest work they are trying to bury.
What do you think about these rumors, Popwrappers? Do you believe them or do you think Britt is just too busy to promote it?
