This seems to be a very good year for Andy Samberg. Not only have several of his movies been released (including Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2), but his new Fox comedy series has become a hit. Brooklyn Nine-Nine first aired last month and the network has already commissioned 9 more episodes. This means the show will end up having a full 22 episode season. In other news, starting February 2, 2014 the show will join New Girl to create “an hour-long special comedy block” right after the Super Bowl. Will it boost the ratings even more? Hopefully! Kevin Reilly, who is Fox’s chairman, recently said, "It's exciting to see that both critics and fans love 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' as much as we do.” He then went on to add, “it feels like this show is going to be around for a long time." This show was created and written by Parks and Recreation's Dan Goor and The Office’s Michael Schur. It soon will air in the UK. E4 bought the transition rights to Brooklyn Nine-Nine. For those unfamiliar with the show, here’s a quick run-down of the plot: This “is a new single-camera ensemble comedy about what happens when a talented, but carefree, detective and his diverse group of colleagues get a new captain with a lot to prove.” Not only is Andy Samberg cast in the title role. He is joined by Andre Braugher (from City of Angels), Stephanie Beatriz (of The Smart One fame), and Joel McKinnon Miller (from Men in Black II and The Truman Show), among other stars. What an all-star group! If you are interested in catching an episode of this show, it currently airs at 8:30/7:30PM on Saturdays (the time is subject to change). You can also steam it online by going onto their Fox website or on Hulu. Enjoy!
