This past weekend our friends of the Buffering web series attended the Hollyweb Festival in Hollywood, California. The Hollyweb Festival and Awards celebrate the best in scripted web series. The weekend was full of screenings and conversations with the creative teams behind each series. The weekend culminated with a giant awards evening and reception/dance party (see below), all of which was captured through a series of photos and videos, all of which I’ve collected here for you!
“We started in a living room and here we are!” states Eric Carroll, who plays Alex Brody in the series, referring to the giant Hollyweb reception that was held the Avalon. “We’ve come a long way and we have a long way to go.” Chase Edmondson gave a shout out to the dedicated fans, known as Buffies, saying, “It’s all because of you guys. We wouldn’t be here without you; your love, your support…everything that makes you the amazing group you are.” As part of the whole experience, the cast and crew held a Q&A at the famed Raleigh Studios. Check out the video of Buffering explaining what they are all about.
The Cast discusses their greatest challenges in creating original content for the Internet and how they built their viewership. PLUS, the group discusses what they hope will come for Buffering in the future. BONUS: If you’ve ever wondered how “Big White Van” came to be, Mike Tobias explained the phenomenon and how someone who could hardly play the guitar (sorry Eric) spawned the inspiration for a trio of girls from the UK.
