According to The Hollywodod Reporter, Jason Blum (Insidious, Paranormal Activity) and Marti Noxon (known for working on Buffy The Vampire Slayer, and Mad Men) are in the process of creating a television adaptation of the novel with Entertainment One, written by Gone Girl and Dark Places author Gillian Flynn.

The novel centers on Camille Preaker, a young journalist who returns to her hometown with the intent on investigating a series of murders. Camille also faces personal demons from her stay with a psych hospital and a neurotic mother.
