While Caitlyn Jenner continues to be a role-model for transgender people around the world, there are sadly some people and organisations that think it's a good idea to poke fun at her and notably, an outfit she wore on the cover of Vanity Fair earlier this year by turning into a Halloween costume.
Anytime Costumes has produced a unisex replica of the outfit, which consists of shorts, a padded top, a wig and a sash with the message "Call Me Caitlyn" emblazoned across it.
Unsurprisingly, the move hasn't gone down well with social media users.

Anytime Costumes responded to the backlash with a statement that said:
“We have all kinds of over-the-top costumes on buzzing themes, characters, and celebrities. If it’s a hot topic, we are going to have a costume about it!...We satirize everyone!....We have an extremely diverse employee base: we have staff from all ethnic backgrounds and age groups; we have men AND women in senior positions; we also have LGBT employees. We certainly do NOT promote or condone any acts of discrimination. We appreciate all the feedback we got. We welcome open dialogues and we respect opinions from all perspectives. As for our stand: we believe in the spirit of Halloween and costume parties – these are the times when people can be irreverent and make a parody of everyone and anyone – even themselves!”
It's a shame to know that this is 2015 and companies such as Anytime Costumes seem to think it's acceptable to poke fun at those individuals who have transformed and changed their lives, and in doing so, are helping millions of others do the same. We here at Popwrapped don't think AC's Caitlyn costume is in the least bit "fun" and they should be ashamed at having produced it.
What do you think AC should do regarding the costume? Would you wear it? Comment below and let us know!
