Calvin Harris is making his return to the scene this year with his upcoming studio album, Motion. Even though its first samples have been rather promising, there was one key element missing: the angelic voice of Ellie Goulding on one of the tunes. Thankfully, the song the two worked on for the new album, "Outside", has finally arrived.
It's been quite a while since the two last joined forces on 2012's "I Need Your Love", even though it's been played so much that it doesn't feel like it. As for "Outside," is an upbeat electro-pop anthem about the heartbreak of breaking up - well basically, being on "the outside". The dancefloor-ready anthem is instantly major, totally anthemic and even euphoric. It's the melancholic, post-break kind of banger that is just so perfect for the fall season, but Calvin Harris will most likely see it being played loud everywhere all the way to summer 2015. Give it a listen below.
There is no doubt that "Outside" is basically a piece of magic and the best sample that Calvin Harris has put out from Motion so far. Moreover, it's only wise that he's putting out the Ellie Goulding-assisted track that is so amazing, to build anticipation for the other collaborations with Tinashe, HAIM and the incredible Gwen Stefani. And speaking of Gwen, the DJ took to instagram to share a snippet of the track and even though it's been taken down, its still available online and you can take a listen to that one as well.
Motion is scheduled to arrive in stores on November 4.
