UPDATE (12:30 PM):
The official music video for “Blame” has landed! Watch Harris and Newman cavort with some half-dressed models below.
Back in June, Calvin Harris revealed his plans to release a brand-new single, titled “Blame” and featuring John Newman. Fans were expecting the track to drop all summer long and the two artists kept sharing teaser snippets on social media, but the producer and DJ took his time and has only now put it out.
The track, which serves as the second single to be lifted from Harris’ upcoming, fourth studio album, finds him joining forces with the British newcomer and delivering something different from his regular club banger. Sure, the track is crystal-clear dance-pop music, but not as uptempo as most tunes of the genre at this point, and even with a soulful twist to it. The singer manages to take us to church with his vocals, especially when the chorus allows him to go all in, before the EDM beats hit hard and get us on our feet.
The duo totally earned the critical acclaim for their collaboration and they’ve already begun promoting the tune, with the accompanying Emil Nava-directed music video scheduled to premiere on VEVO sometime this week.
