Calvin Harris is moving on with his current era, while in the middle of the promotion for his brand-new studio album, Motion. The latest promotional single from it, “Open Wide”, finds him joining forces with Big Sean and it now has a music video to go by.
The cinematic visuals for “Open Wide” take place in the desert, with some gangster action right in place. As he sits in the couch and raps with swagger, we get to see some rivalry between two gangs out in the streets. Directed by Emil Nava, they find a ballerina setting the beginning for a gun game, in which ladies are also involved. The shooting goes on while she’s elegantly dancing in the middle and manages to make it untouched right through to the end. Calvin Harris himself is nowhere to be seen.
“Open Wide” comes after the release of the Alesso and Hurts collaboration “Under Control”, the lead single “Summer”, the John Newman-assisted “Blame” and “Outside” with Ellie Goulding. It is the twelfth track on Calvin Harris’ Motion and the first bonus one, while it serves as the vocal version of “C.U.B.A”.
