Ah, Twitter! An invention that has allowed celebrities to interact with the public without, ever having to go through the press. It is pretty convenient, but sometimes with that ease comes with a price. Like writing things in the spur of the moment that you may or may not regret.
But admittedly it does make for great entertainment.
And recently we were exposed to one of these magical moments when former One Direction member Zayn Malik got into a twitter spat with DJ/Model/Best-Boyfriend-ever Calvin Harris.
It started out when Zayn retweeted out a meme that compared Miley Cyrus’ actions on music streaming site Spotify with Calvin’s girlfriend, Taylor Swift. In the meme, Miley is quoted as being fine with having to release her music for free on Spotify since she already made money from it, while Swift who pulled out her entire catalog from the streaming service is quoted as saying that fans can still listen to her music on Itunes, which is not a free format.
Zayn’s comment on the meme was: “The difference is astounding”.
Calvin, of course, was not going to stand around and let his girlfriend get insulted and so replied:

But Zayn came back swinging…
@CalvinHarris ha you just made an absolute fool of yourself mate

And then Calvin tried to defuse the situation, But Zayn was not backing down:

But there is an added dimension to this Twitter fight, because apparently Zayn Malik’s former band mate Louis Tomlinson sided with Harris, although he did not tweet out, he did favorite one of Calvin’s tweet-a subtle jab there from the Sass-Master of Doncaster.
