Sean Pertwee will be appearing in season two of the CBS drama, Elementary. On July 3rd, Pertwee took to Twitter to announce that he will be joining the team as inspector Lestrade.
In the Sherlock Holmes stories written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Lestrade was a famous detective who at first didn’t understand Holmes’ methods of solving cases, but went on to respect him. Sherlock Holmes allowed Lestrade to take credit for the cases that Holmes solved.
We’ll just have to wait and see how Pertwee, the son of Doctor Who star Jon Pertwee, will portray Lestrade in the contemporary Sherlock Holmes drama.
In the second season of Elementary, Sherlock (Jonny Lee Miller) and Watson (Lucy Liu) leave New York and make their way to London. Sherlock revisits an old case and old friends, while Watson gets a closer look at the life Sherlock left behind.
Season 2 will premiere on Sept. 26th!
