It’s come to a point where it seems like Marvel has become its own unstoppable force. The last two weeks or so have featured several announcements by Marvel, from new films being adapted, to their release dates to plot lines, new castings, as well as the release of not one or two, but three clips from the upcoming Avengers: Age of Ultron.
And now it has been revealed that Haley Atwell’s Peggy Carter will be appearing in next year’s Ant-man, as well. A fan favourite character, Agent Carter has already appeared in both Captain America films, Agents of Shield, and reportedly has a role in Age of Ultron as well- not to mention Marvel’s most recent TV venture, Agent Cater, which will be premiering in January 2015, is built entirely around her character’s development and further undertaking after the apparent demise of Steve Rogers.
Starring Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, Evangeline Lilly, Judy Greer, Michael Peña, Corey Stoll and John Slattery as an older version of Howard Stark (who first appeared in Captain America: The First Avenger alongside Atwell’s Peggy Carter), the film has had its own struggles from the very beginning- with several rewrites and director replacements, and it is hoped that this particular news might assist the film to generate more hype than it has, having fallen short of the anticipation most other Marvel films tend to generate.
Although not an official announcement by Marvel, the news of Peggy Carter’s appearance in Ant-man first got out due to an Atlanta-area casting call on ProjectCasting.com (via Comic Book Movie ), which read:
