A new TV spot trailer has been unveiled for the upcoming remake of the Stephen King book-to-film Carrie and in case you had any doubts whether or not they would stay true to the original, you can rest assured that this latest remake still retains its R rating for its bloody violence, disturbing images, language and some sexual content.

This newest adaptation comes to us from director Kimberly Peirce (Boys Don’t Cry) and screen writer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (Glee, Big Love), with Chloe Moretz (Kick Ass) as Carrie and Julianne Moore as her mother Margaret. Also starring is Judy Greer (Arrested Development) as Miss Desjardin, Gabriella Wilde (Dark Horse) as Sue Snell, Alex Russell (Wasted on the Young) as Billy Nolan and newcomer Ansel Elgort as Tommy Ross.

The official synopsis from the Sony Pictures website calls it “A reimagining of the classic horror tale about Carrie White, a shy girl outcast by her peers and sheltered by her deeply religious mother, who unleashes telekinetic terror on her small town after being pushed too far at her senior prom.”

Carrie opens in theatres across the US on October 18, Australia on November 14, and the UK on November 29.
