Charli XCX Drops Music Video For New Single, ‘Famous’

Charli XCX is still promoting her sophomore studio album ‘Sucker’ and has now premiered the music video for her next single, “Famous”.

Charli XCX is still deep in the promotion of her sophomore studio album, Sucker, and has now picked another single to promote. This time around, “Famous” is the one receiving spotlight and its accompanying music video was premiered along with others, as part of the Youtube Music Awards.

The colorful visuals find a social-media-obsessed fan of Charli XCX watching one of her music videos on her phone, before it runs out of battery and hellish creatures appear to take her away. She manages to save the day with her tablet, but it soon dies out as well and she ends up at some living hell with other technology-addicted freaks. In a moment of desparation, she finds a huge, selfie-stick-holding guy with a plug socket instead of a belly button, and decides to use it to charge her phone and get back to the real world. Crazy, isn’t it? Director Eric Wareheim (Tim And Eric) has done a great job with portraying the life of a teenager with a more surreal, yet hilarious, approach.

“Famous” is the fourth single to be lifted from the songstress latest studio album, Sucker, and it serves as a follow-up to “Boom Clap”, “Break The Rules” and the Rita Ora-assisted “Doing It”. The clip was premiered a day after Charli XCX finished opening for Katy Perry in the last European leg of her Primsatic World Tour. Give it a look below.
