Just because a celebrity has that blue, verified checkmark sitting next to their name doesn’t mean that the words are their own. Many celebrities actually hire a team of writers to generate those tweets you long for. In fact, some of the most followed accounts are run by the respective celebrity’s public relation team including: Kanye, Guy Kawasaki, Britney Spears, Obama, 50 Cent, Hugh Jackman and even Ashton Kutcher. But for better or worse (I’m looking at you Amanda Bynes) some celebs still handle Twitterverse by themselves, here are some of the best celebrity-run accounts out there: 1. Jimmy Fallon @jimmyfallon When he’s not spreading the link to Late Night’s newest viral video, he provides for plenty of fan interaction with his #hashtagwars game, often asking for something embarrassing or crazy that has happened in the past to his viewers. Hopefully once Fallon moves to the Tonight Show he’ll keep Twitter presence strong. 2. Katy Perry  @katyperry Sitting at a whopping 50 million followers, Katy has managed to create an abundance of adorable and authentic tweets. In a recent interview with Ellen DeGeneres, Perry said “I enjoy sharing my life and the occasional cat video over album-promoting tweets.” It’s always refreshing to see a celebrity keen on making fan enjoyment a priority. 3. Ellen DeGeneres @TheEllenShow Speaking of Ellen, you need not look much further than her bio to get an understanding of her tweets: "My tweets are real, and they're spectacular." Like Fallon she’s great at sending out links to videos from her show as well as the occasional joke to help get her fans through the day. 4. Shaquille O'Neal @SHAQ The big man has been bust in retirement, proving to still be quite the presence on and off the court. Shaq has stated, "If I am going to speak, it will come from me," and he has kept his word. Although he remains a bit of a wildcard on both content and grammar of his tweets, it’s easy to tell Shaq is truthfully speaking his mind which is exactly what his fans are looking for. 5. Khloe Kardashian @khloekardashian As we all know, keeping up with the Kardashians is no easy task. Luckily Khloe is here to help with updates on her family, friends and promotion lines. 6. Sofia Vergara @SofiaVergara With so many things going on in her life it’s hard to imagine when Sofia even finds the time to tweet, but when she does find a moment between Modern Family filming and producing Killer Women all of Vergara’s tweets are her own. What really separates Vergara is bilingual tweets that allow her to speak to both her English and Spanish fans. 7. Lance Armstrong @lancearmstrong Although he’s not the most popular guy right now since his steroid usage became public, former professional cyclist Lance Armstrong has used Twitter to speak out about "Imperfect guy in an imperfect world." Despite the controversy though, his Livestrong charity is still up and running and he often tweets support for cancer victims and his families. 8. Rainn Wilson @rainnwilson Dwight Schrute may no longer be on our televisions every Thursday night but Rainn Wilson is a very active user with lots of interesting things to say. When former Office actor isn’t tweeting about his beloved Seahawks, he gives updates about the website he created several years ago called SoulPancake.com. The website is dedicated to discussing ideas, asking life's big questions, and making stuff that matters. Wilson ensures his tweets are as authentic as his SoulPancake's mission. 9. Cher @cher Despite her age, the 67-year-old performing legend has no qualms about adapting to a new interface to keep in touch with her fans. Like Shaq, it’s clear that through the use of internet abbreviations and the occasional all caps that her tweets are authentic but surely her fans are hoping Cher will keep sharing her thoughts with them for many years to come. 10. Steve Martin @SteveMartinToGo The comedy legend and all-around cool guy Steve Martin is a frequent tweeter of quippy one-liners. Even his Twitter bio brings the funny with that dry Martin humor: "Oh, and a new CD with Edie Bricknell is out now. Not on tour currently." Known for comedy films like The Jerk and Planes, Trains and Automobiles, Steve Martin basically provides free stand-up comedy for his followers.
