Patrick Dempsey fans have had it rough lately. Not only have they had to deal with the actor’s departure from Grey’s Anatomy, they also faced the possibility that the star might be giving up acting for good. Rumors have been swirling that Dempsey would be leaving acting to pursue his other life’s passion, auto racing, full time.
Now Dempsey is putting the rumors to rest, and the news is sure to set many troubled hearts at ease.
“I’m not retiring from acting,” Dempsey revealed to People magazine. The former McDreamy shared the important info while doing press at the Indianapolis 500 on May 23. Dempsey served as honorary starter for the race the next day. The star was also there to represent TAG Heuer. The upscale watch company, a sponsor of Dempsey’s racing team, was the official timekeeper for the race.
Despite his proclamation, it looks like we’ll be seeing Dempsey predominantly in the racing world rather than Hollywood in the near future. His next high speed adventure will be at the famous Le Mans race in France for test day on May 31.
