"Save the Cheerleader, Save the world" was one of the enduring quotes in the original Heroes series. It refers to the mission of trying to prevent immortal cheerleader , Claire Bennet from falling into the hands of the power stealing villain, Sylar . It became the core mission of the characters in the first season.
But it seemed that all of their efforts were in vain, since after all Sylar was able to copy her abilities and as it turns out, she will be be dead at the beginning of upcoming sequel series, Heroes Reborn.
Series creator Tim Kring made the shocking revelation at the 2015 Television Critics Association summer press tour stating that
"she died a year prior to our story starting. That sort of gets into the mythology that's attached to the original show."
Claire's overprotective and loving father Noah Bennet on the other hand is set to return. Fans of the series will remember how close the two were , it'll be interesting to see how the doting dad dealt with the death of his beloved daughter, and it may add to the new series' plot points.
Aside from Noah played by Jack Coleman, original cast members Masi Oka and Greg Gunberg are also set to return. They will be joined by Zachary Levi and Ryan Guzman who will be playing new lead characters.
Heroes Reborn will premiere with a special two hour event on September 24 from 8pm to 10 pm on NBC.
