Rumours have been rife over the last few months, but The Sun Newspaper has confirmed that Cheryl Fernandez-Versini will divorce her husband of 18 months, Jean Bernard. The X Factor UK judge has been plagued with rumours of the split since returning to British screens of the hit TV show in August. Appearing noticeably thin, Cheryl has yet to comment officially whether or not she was divorcing her second husband.

Jean and Cheryl shocked fans by getting married in secret on the 7th of July 2014, after three months of dating.  The couple have not been seen in public together since October, and although Jean Bernard was recently seen on an Instagram snap wearing his wedding ring. The Sun has citied that Jean’s jealousy has caused the split, and they have been separated for five months.

Cheryl has not been shy of rumours and news stories in her long career. Having risen to fame in 2002 as a member of Girls Aloud. The band took a hiatus in 2010, re-forming for a sold out tour in 2012, and then confirming their split.  During Cheryl’s time as a solo singer, she jointly holds the British record for being the first female to have five number ones in the United Kingdom. This will be the 32 year old pop star’s second divorce. She was previously married to England international football star, Ashley Cole. The couple were married for four years and split due to “unreasonable behaviour” citing many infidelity rumours.

It has not yet been confirmed as to what the reasons for divorce are or whether or not Cheryl will change her name. Professionally, she has been known as just Cheryl since her third album, however she has been introduced on The X Factor as Mrs Fernandez-Versini.

It doesn’t look like this heartbreak, is going to slow Cheryl down, she has recently posted on Instagram that she was returning to the studio to record her follow-up to her 2014 Top 10 album Only Human.
