The project is still without a director however, as Sofia Coppola dropped out earlier this year, citing creative differences with the studio for the decision.
As stated by Chloё, the legendary Richard Curtis is in talks to adapt the script from the Hans Christian Andersen story, about a mermaid who trades her voice for legs to be with a handsome prince. Curtis has previously written the blockbuster rom-com’s Love Actually, Four Weddings And A Funeral and Notting Hill, as well as classic British sitcoms Blackadder, Mr. Bean and The Vicar Of Dibley.
