Well, the news is out, and I may have a cried a bit, but it is true, Chris Pine cut all his hair off. No, really, it’s all gone. All that beautiful blonde hair is on the floor of some room somewhere. And want to know why? Apparently Chris was bored.
In his defense, he had been growing out his hair for his role in A Wrinkle in Time. As Dr. Alex Murray, he was meant to have longer hair and a beard. After filming wrapped, he appeared at the Oscar Wilde Awards to present to Zachary Quinto with his hair still intact but without a beard.
And it seemed from there to just continue to progress. A hair salon in Los Angeles shared a picture of the actor with his new short haircut, but that seemed to not be enough for the Star Trek actor. Not at all, in fact.
According to his interviews at CinemaCon, Chris was sick at home and just got bored and wanted a change. He said that his beard went from a beard to a mustache before he completely shaved it off. From there, he attacked his hair, and, now, he has no hair.
There’s a lot that we love, but let’s look at his hair and focus on that. Basically, Chris is buff and has a crewcut, and, while it might have been a shock at first, it really is a good look on him. Who knows?! Maybe he’ll keep it, or maybe he’ll grow his hair back out to what we know and love.
Either way, the bald head was a shock but really isn’t as bad as everyone originally made it out to be. It oddly fits Chris, and it’s a different look for him that I kind of love.
